Model The Way

“Your actions speak so loudly, I cannot hear what you are saying.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Leading by example or leading from the front at home, school, and in the community for the benefit and elevation of others is the central theme of Model The Way.

Model The Way (MTW) is leadership in service.

ASLeaders Model The Way by helping members of our community and taking ownership for our environment and well-being in all aspects of our school communities.

"Tell me and I forget.

Teach me and I remember.

Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin

The annual MODEL THE WAY HONOURS ceremony is held at Cineplex in partnership with Desjardins Caisse de Chomedey and takes place at the end of the school year. It is our time to honour the impact that our students are having at home and around the world.

An Honour is not an award that can be won or earned. Each Honour is a recognition of time, energy, effort and dedication to make our school communities and world a better place.

Montreal's Kelly Alexander and Natasha Hall host the Model The Way Honours.

Meet the next generation of leaders - YouTube (360p).mp4

Pink In The City is a student created charity that raises funds for our MUHC hospital's breast cancer clinic and donates 100% of what is raised.

Students are raising funds to open a new HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAM at the MUHC breast cancer clinic!

Students participate in all aspects of the initiative from learning, to doing, to following through as they meet the researchers and doctors directly implicated.

MENTORSHIP

The final phase of ASLeadership training is mentoring.

Mentors work with other leaders and reinvest in the development of the team. Mentors work with elementary school, junior and fellow high school students.

Mentors are also community members and alumni who work with our Phase 5 ASLeaders in grade 11.

We are creating a small 3D printed, LED light that is programmed to flash ‘Lest We Forget’ in Morse Code to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The lights will be for any and all Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

Every night the lights will turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise as they are powered by solar batteries.
