Secondary Leadership
The SWLSB Secondary Student Leadership Program has a local, national, and international impact. These students are expected to make a tremendous and sustained positive contribution to their schools and school communities.
Some of their initiatives include:
• Organizing Remembrance Day assemblies
• Leading various school-wide assemblies
• Supporting peers with stress, anxiety, and time management
• Serving on the student council and governing board
• Participating in school committees to improve the educational environment
• Acting as school representatives at the board level, engaging in meaningful collaboration
• Organizing fundraisers and community outreach
• Hosting activities and events that promote unity within the school
• Creating opportunities for the expression of empathy, compassion, and service to those in need
Student leadership development is multi-dimensional. When students embrace leadership, they become catalysts for change, positively impacting hundreds of their peers in meaningful ways. They also pass on their leadership skills, fostering sustainability and helping their school communities thrive, grow, and succeed across a wide range of areas.
