Student leaders can choose to trailblaze a new student leadership PATH every year or go deeper in an area of interest to explore and develop their passion in the
Arts
Athletics
Survival
Business; politics, law, chef, public speaking
Science; IT, technology, space, medicine
Every PATH is part of the SWLSB Secondary Student Leadership Certificate Program teams: Team Dawe (blue) and Team Karigiannis (green).
Each PATH will have the following incredible experiential learning opportunities:
Meet with experts in their field of your interest.
Learning Experience: field trip or event that places you in the centre of the action.
Project: Demonstrate your ability to lead with your new knowledge and skills in a transformative, student-led event, project or initiative.
Every PATH is mentored by staff members, business, and community leaders who volunteer their time.
EXPERTS & EXPERIENCES:
Student leaders will work with performing artists, former Disney Cast Members, actors and inspirational public speakers.
Students will be learning how to lead on the stage and through artisitic expression. They will also explore ways to expand their art in the medium of their choosing.
PROJECT FOCUS:
Students will be working on;
Podcast: Leaving Tread Marks (Student Captain: position available)
&
TEDx Youth @ Laval. Stage, lights, cameras, microphones, scripts, tickets, etc. (Student Captain: Chiara and apprentice position available)

EXPERTS & EXPERIENCES:
Student leaders are going to meet with some of the top fitness, and mental health coaches in Canada.
Students will work with Concordia University student-athletes and experience a day in the life of a top performing athlete.
PROJECT FOCUS:
Kobe Cantelon is an alumni who founded a charity that fights racisms and anti-Semitism through snowboarding. These students will help to support Kobe's charity. (Student Captain: position available)

Students will develop essential survival skills and develop the tools and resources for crisis management.
EXPERTS & EXPERIENCES:
Students will work with experts in land, mind, and body preparedness and strategic actions in a dynamic environment.
These students should have a love for the outdoors.
PROJECT FOCUS:
Students will be working toward the 2026 Alberta trip to the Rocky Mountains for white water rafting and multi-day backpacking. (open to all SWLSB Sec. Student Leaders Certificate participants)
Students will work with the Indigenous community on Land-Based Learning Day. (Student Captain: position available)

EXPERTS & EXPERIENCES:
Students will meet with business leaders in various fields to learn about entrepreneurship, turning dreams into strategic action and developing the discipline and work ethic to achieve those dreams.
Students will work with chefs, politicians, lawyers, HR departments, business leaders, and more.
Students will learn how to plan, adapt, run board meetings, and speak in various situations.
PROJECT FOCUS:
Students will work on the Montreal International Women's Day Breakfast (Student Captains: Alishba, Hareem, Paola)
&
The NextGEN Assembly of Leaders (Student Captain: position available).

Science, medicine, and technology will be explored on this PATH.
EXPERTS & EXPERIENCES:
Students will meet with leaders in the fields of space exploration, IT, emerging technology, research, and doctors from a variety of fields.
PROJECT FOCUS:
Students will focus their efforts on the SWLSB Pink in the City Raise Craze and work with the team at the MUHC.
TRIP:
Costa Rica 2027 (open to all SWLSB Sec. Student Leaders Certificate participants)

We are developing students who are capable of leading, collaborating, learning, and contributing in all areas of their lives.
Personal Development and Community Involvement Animators, facilitate and support a variety of student leadership programs.
